EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -The University of Oregon says allegations of impropriety surrounding LaMichael James and a vehicle he had been driving are unfounded.
The university issued a statement Wednesday saying it was determined that James’ use of the vehicle “did not constitute a violation of NCAA legislation.”
Questions arose after an anonymous tip that James was diving a sports utility vehicle that he borrowed from a friend. The school says the friend is not an Oregon booster or an agent.
James remains eligible to play for the No. 1 Ducks, who host No. 20 Arizona on Friday.
