COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) -Missouri coach Gary Pinkel says he has agreed to a new contract, pending approval by the school's Board of Curators.
In announcing the verbal agreement on Monday, Pinkel said he's committed to the university and ``excited about continuing to build the program.''
Pinkel says he hopes to sign the contract ``in the next couple of days.'' The curators are scheduled to meet tomorrow.
The school announced last week that it was finalizing a second raise in two years for Pinkel, who has led the 12th-ranked Tigers to a 21-4 record the last two seasons.
This year, Missouri is 9-2, winning the Big 12 North for the second straight season. The Tigers will play in the conference championship game on Dec. 6 in Kansas City.
