ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -Michigan football coach Rich Rodriguez has had 12 straight weekly news conferences to look ahead to the next game.
For the first time since August, Rodriguez didn’t have a matchup to preview on Monday. Michigan hasn’t said when he’ll hold a news conference to wrap up the season that started 4-0 and ended 5-7.
Until then, others will do plenty of talking and speculating about his future with college football’s winningest program.
It seems unlikely Michigan will fire Rodriguez after two awful seasons with an NCAA investigation looming and a search for a new athletic director under way.
School president Mary Sue Coleman has issued statements of support, but she has not definitively said Rodriguez will be back for the 2010 season.
