FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) -Close victories aren’t enough for TCU.
While the Horned Frogs (11-0) are still undefeated, they slipped a spot to fourth behind Boise State in the AP poll Sunday, a day after having to rally from a two-touchdown deficit and hold on for their closest win of the season.
TCU was passed by Boise State in both the AP Top 25 and USA Today coaches’ poll after a 40-35 victory over San Diego State (7-3). Oregon and Auburn remained 1-2 after tight games of their own Saturday.
After their home finale, the Frogs now have to wait two weeks before playing their regular-season finale at New Mexico (1-9). And wait to see how an idle week will affect them before playing a game they will be favored to win by a large margin.
