CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) -All Stephen Morris has done in his first two starts as Miami’s quarterback is something the Hurricanes had not accomplished in eight years.
It might not be enough to keep him in the lineup.
Morris has been at the controls of back-to-back 500-yard games for Miami’s offense. The last time the Hurricanes did that was in the final two contests of the 2002 regular season.
And still, there’s no guarantee if he’ll be the starter on Saturday when No. 24 Miami hosts No. 14 Virginia Tech in a game that could decide the ACC Coastal Division title.
Miami coach Randy Shannon is steadfast on this point: If Jacory Harris is cleared to play after his concussion, he’ll be back, regardless of what Morris has done as the starter.
