SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) – A Notre Dame student who died after the tower from which he was filming football practice fell over has been remembered as an ambitious young man.
More than 1,000 people gathered Thursday night for a special Mass in memory of Declan Sullivan. Sullivan was high above the turf in a hydraulic lift Wednesday when the lift toppled.
The 20-year-old Sullivan was a junior film student from the Chicago suburb of Long Grove, Ill.
Sullivan was remembered as being involved in many activities, especially those that involved in telling stories through film.
The Rev. Tom Doyle, vice president of student affairs, said Sullivan “couldn’t have one job” because “there were too many things to do.”
