COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – More than 105,000 sets of eyes will be watching No. 11 Ohio State on Saturday to see how the Buckeyes react to a massive dollop of adversity.
Losing their first game of the season, and losing two top players on defense, has left the Buckeyes susceptible and fragile as they take the field against another team that knows a thing or two about hard times in Purdue.
A lot has changed in seven days for Ohio State.
On call-in shows and bulletin boards this week, fans have questioned the backbone of quarterback Terrelle Pryor, coach Jim Tressel’s ability to put together a solid game plan and the Buckeyes’ talent and will.
Beaten and beaten up, the Buckeyes are trying to forget the big picture and focus only on the task at hand against the Boilermakers.
