TARRYTOWN, N.Y. (AP) – A teammate of a Pace University football player shot by police says he begged officers to let him perform CPR on his dying friend.
Daniel Parker, of Lauderhill, Fla., spoke at a news conference Friday.
Parker says he told police: “He’s dying. Can I help him? Can I help him?”
Parker’s attorney prevented him from answering reporters’ questions.
Bonita Zelman previously said one officer threatened Parker with a gun, then four or five threw him to the ground and punched him.
Some witnesses’ lawyers have alleged that Danroy Henry, of Easton, Mass., was neglected for up to 15 minutes after he was shot early Sunday in Thornwood, N.Y.
Earlier Friday, Mount Pleasant Police Chief Louis Alagno (uh-LAHG’-noh) detailed response times that countered that claim.
