SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) -Golden Tate is always excited when he shows up for practice early in the week to see what Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis has in store for him.
Tate says he never knows what Weis has dialed up. With receiver Michael Floyd out with a broken collarbone, Weis has been doing everything he can to move Tate around. Tate has lined up at all three receiver spots, at tailback, fullback and at quarterback in the wildcat formation.
He had two touchdown catches against USC last Saturday, the only two TD passes the Trojans have allowed this season. It’s quite a change from a year ago when Tate and the Irish offense struggled when Floyd missed three games.
