BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) – Indiana left tackle Jason Spriggs was carted off the field and taken to an ambulance late in Saturday’s game against No. 8 Michigan State.
Team officials did not immediately have an update on his condition. It appeared Spriggs may have had a helmet-to-helmet collision with 4:54 left in the game and the Hoosiers trailing 49-17.
The 6-foot-7, 300-pound junior is Indiana’s top offensive lineman and was the latest addition to an injury-filled week.
Indiana lost its top two quarterbacks, Nate Sudfeld and Chris Covington, with injuries in last week’s loss at Iowa. Sudfeld will miss the rest of the season with a separated left shoulder. Covington was diagnosed with a torn ACL earlier this week.
