NORMAN, Okla. (AP) – Oklahoma and Missouri have played twice in the last three years with a shot at the national championship on the line.
Another high-stakes showdown comes Saturday night when the No. 3 Sooners (6-0, 2-0 Big 12) and the No. 18 Tigers (6-0, 2-0) meet with both unbeaten and dreaming of a special season.
Oklahoma won all three meeting between the schools in a 15-month span in 2007 and 2008, including the Big 12 championship games in both seasons. In 2007, it cost the Tigers a shot at the BCS championship. In 2008, it was the Sooners’ last hurdle before playing Florida for the national title.
Oklahoma also beat Missouri in Norman in 2007 when both teams were ranked in the top 11.
