FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) -TCU coach Gary Patterson isn’t surprised by his undefeated team’s drop in The Associated Press poll.
During his weekly news conference Tuesday, Patterson said he knew his team would “drop in the poll with the writers” because of a close score and the perception some still have about TCU and the Mountain West Conference.
The Horned Frogs (5-0) fell from No. 10 to No. 12 after their 20-17 victory in an icy mist at Air Force on Saturday night.
Boise State (5-0), like TCU trying to be a BCS buster, is up a spot to fifth after an open date. Boise State is sixth in the USA Today coaches poll, while TCU is eighth.
The Frogs play Colorado State at home Saturday.
