ATHENS, Ga. (AP) – Georgia running back Caleb King has become the school’s 11th football player to be arrested this year.
School spokesman Claude Felton says King was picked up in Athens for failing to appear at a court date in nearby Walton County to address a speeding ticket.
Felton says coach Mark Richt is aware of the situation and gathering information. The school may have an update later Monday on King’s status for this week’s game against Vanderbilt.
King led the Bulldogs with 58 yards rushing in a 41-14 victory over Tennessee this past weekend, which snapped Georgia’s four-game losing streak. For the season, he ranks second on the team with 228 yards and one touchdown.
