IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) -Iowa has been able to shut down quarterbacks most of the season.
They will face a quarterback this Saturday who has made a ton of plays outside of the pocket. Michigan freshman Tate Forcier and the Wolverines (4-1, 1-1 Big 10) visit Kinnick Stadium in a critical Big Ten showdown.
The 12th-ranked Hawkeyes (5-0, 1-0) know Forcier has thrown nine touchdowns against three interceptions this year. His style is reminiscent of Arkansas State’s Corey Leonard, who threw a pair of TD passes last week.
Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz praised Forcier on Tuesday, calling him a playmaker who can improvise and get out of trouble by using his feet.
