WACO, Texas (AP) -Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin likely will be watching from the press box when the Bears play their first game without him.
It will be a different perspective for the standout sophomore who sustained “an isolated tear” in the ACL of his right knee in the last game. The Bears, who say Griffin is done for the season, play Kent State at home Saturday.
Griffin said Tuesday that having to watch will make him a better player in his first public comments since the extent of his injury became known.
He also said the coaches prefer that he be in the press box rather than on the field to avoid the possibility of being accidentally hit.
