COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) – No. 5 Oklahoma State capped a trying week by rallying to win a tough game at No. 14 Texas A&M and stay undefeated.
Now the Cowboys have a much needed open date to recover from a week that began with a thunderstorm-delayed game that ended at 3:35 a.m. Sunday morning and included dealing with the death of the wife of assistant coach Glenn Spencer.
Spencer missed the week of preparation, but rejoined the team Saturday as the Cowboys rallied for a 30-29 win.
Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy says the death of Angela Spencer made the week “very difficult” and affected everyone involved with the team.
The Aggies will spend this week trying to regroup and prepare for No. 18 Arkansas after giving up a 17-point halftime lead in Saturday’s loss.
