SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -San Jose State is getting a nice tour of the Top 25 in the first month of the season.
Next up for the Spartans is 13th-ranked Utah on Saturday in Salt Lake City, where the Utes have a 19-game home winning streak.
San Jose State (1-2) opened the season with a 48-3 loss at top-ranked Alabama, followed by a trip to Wisconsin, where the 11th-ranked Badgers held on for a 27-14 win.
Utah has vaulted from unranked to its highest ranking since finishing the 2008 season unbeaten and No. 2 in the country.
Quarterback Jordan Wynn is expected to return to the Utes after missing two games with a sprained right thumb.
Coach Kyle Whittingham says Wynn is likely to play, but won’t say whether Wynn or Terrance Cain will be getting the start Saturday night.
