CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) – No. 24 Illinois will host Western Michigan on Saturday and the Illini insist they are going into the game wary.
The last time the teams played back in 2008, the Broncos beat Illinois 23-17. It was a painful loss in what would become a disappointing 5-7 season for Illinois.
The Illini (3-0) are coming off a big win over Arizona State. Western Michigan Bill Cubit says the Illini look like the most talented team his Broncos (2-1, 1-0 MAC) will face.
The Broncos beat rival Central Michigan 44-14 last week. Quarterback Alex Carder says this week’s game is a chance to find out how good the Broncos really are.
