BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) -Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer says Michael Vick will have ‘a story to tell’ as his NFL comeback continues.
The former Hokies quarterback has played well for the Philadelphia Eagles. After replacing the injured Kevin Kolb in Week 1, he has rushed for 140 yards and passed for 459 yards and three touchdowns. In his his first NFL start since 2006, he led the Eagles to a 35-32 win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
Beamer says Vick has worked hard to get back to where he once was athletically, and that he will be able to use his story to show that a mistake can be overcome with determination.
Vick returns to his backup role this weekend, but Beamer says Vick doesn’t appear to have lost any of his skills and that he expects him to be back “in a big way.”
