FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) – TCU’s home has become a construction zone.
The 23rd-ranked Horned Frogs (1-1) play their home opener Saturday against Louisiana-Monroe (1-1) at an 81-year-old stadium that is undergoing a renovation.
Frogs coach Gary Patterson says as long as the 100 yards of grass is unchanged, he’s not going to worry about playing in the shadow of cranes.
TCU has won 20 consecutive games at the stadium, which has been reduced to 32,000 seats this season because of the renovation work that began last year after the Frogs played their last home game. That was about a month before they won the Rose Bowl.
This is the Frogs’ first meeting with Louisiana-Monroe, which is 0-21 against Top 25 teams.
