ATLANTA (AP) – Maybe it’s a little early to call this offense Air Johnson.
Even so, Georgia Tech is sure showing a lot more life in the passing game.
Through two weeks, the Yellow Jackets have thrown for more yards – 579 – than they did in the first six games of 2010. Quarterback Tevin Washington has taken advantage of some huge openings in the passing game, connecting on five touchdowns with no interceptions.
His top receiver is Stephen Hill, who is averaging nearly 44 yards on his seven catches. The junior already has more yards than all of last season.
Coach Paul Johnson points out that the competition is about to get a lot tougher. The Yellow Jackets host Kansas on Saturday after easy wins over Western Carolina and Middle Tennessee State.
