YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) -Brandon Summers threw two touchdown passes to Ferlando Williams, Jabari Scott ran for two scores and De’Angelo Wilson added a punt return for a touchdown, leading Youngstown State to a 38-0 victory over Central State on Saturday.
Summers completed 6-of-8 passes for 101 yards without an interception, hitting Williams on scoring strikes of 64 and 5 yards. Scott rushed for 111 yards on 14 carries, scoring on runs of 17 and 2 yards. Wilson’s 39-yard punt return for a score put the Penguins (1-2) ahead 21-0 at the half.
Keenan Hampton rushed for 58 yards on 12 carries and Jude Diege hit on 11-of-26 passes for 97 yards with one interception for Central State (0-3).
Youngstown State’s defense held the Marauders to 198 yards, forced two turnovers and made them punt nine times.
Brian Palmer added a 23-yard field goal for the Penguins, with Kamryn Keys rushing for 81 yards on 15 carries.
