AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP) -Northwestern State offensive lineman Josh Cunningham is the second player taken off the field on a stretcher with a neck injury.
Air Force cornerback Reggie Rembert was carted off earlier in the first quarter during Saturday’s season opener.
The Demons said Cunningham had a possible stinger along with a concussion and was taken to a hospital as a precaution. He had movement on one side.
It wasn’t clear how Cunningham was injured. The freshman fell to the ground and remained motionless for several minutes as medical staff worked on him. His shoes were taken off before he was taken off the field.
Rembert had feeling in all extremities after injuring his neck on a tackle. He was taken to a hospital for X-rays.
