GRANGER, Ind. (AP) – Police have surrounded an Indiana home that records show belongs to a former Notre Dame football defensive coordinator.
Property tax records show the home surrounded Friday in Granger is owned by Corwin and Melissa Brown. Corwin Brown was Notre Dame’s defensive coordinator from 2007 to 2009, until head coach Charlie Weis was fired. The 41-year-old coached defensive backs with the New England Patriots last season, but was not retained.
Police speaking on a public address system outside the home are using the name “Corwin” repeatedly, asking someone inside to answer a cell phone. Officers have blocked off entrances to the subdivision.
Granger is about 10 miles northwest of the Notre Dame campus in South Bend.
