CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) -Seantrel Henderson’s career at Miami has started.
Considered by some as the nation’s No. 1 recruit a year ago, Henderson was on the Hurricanes’ practice field with his new teammates as training camp opened Thursday morning. The 6-foot-8, 330-pound offensive lineman originally signed with Southern California, only to be released from that letter of intent after the Trojans were hit with NCAA sanctions.
Henderson arrived in South Florida on Tuesday, then arrived on Miami’s campus Wednesday. Hurricanes coach Randy Shannon says the freshman “will have a chance” to play his way into Miami’s offensive line rotation this season.
Henderson originally picked USC over Ohio State, Notre Dame and Florida.
