LOS ANGELES (AP) – Utah coach Kyle Whittingham sat down in front of the Hollywood cameras with a comfortable smile. His polo shirt had the familiar feathered “U” on the chest and the brand-new Pac-12 logo on the shoulder.
After all those years of BCS-busting, the Utes are finally on the inside looking out, and Whittingham loves the view from his new conference.
Utah and Colorado have officially arrived in the Pac-12 after the reconfigured league’s media day Tuesday on the Fox studio lot in Century City.
While the Buffaloes are rebuilding under new coach Jon Embree, the Utes already believe they can contend for the South Division title.
Embree says he always thought Colorado was a better fit in the Pac-10 than the Big 12.
Whittingham has already noticed a big recruiting boost.
