NEW YORK (AP) – Former Auburn football player Chaz Ramsey will meet with the NCAA next week to discuss allegations that Tigers players received thousands of dollars, The Birmingham News reported Wednesday.
Ramsey was one of four players who told HBO’s “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel” that they received cash payments in book bags, envelopes and even handshakes. Ramsey played at Auburn most recently, in the 2007 season.
“I wouldn’t like Auburn to be there,” Ramsey told the newspaper. “The NCAA wanted to talk to me, so the NCAA is going to talk to me.”
Ramsey said on HBO that he was paid $5,000 to $6,000 while at Auburn.
