RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) – North Carolina State welcomed back a quarterback who transferred out and offered an encouraging glimpse of another who transferred in.
Jacoby Brissett threw two long touchdown passes to Bryan Underwood in his first public performance as the Wolfpack’s starter, a 34-0 victory by his Red team Saturday in N.C. State’s spring game.
Tony Creecy rushed for two TDs for a Red team with the starting offense and defense.
Brissett, a transfer from Florida, was 24 of 37 for 365 yards with TDs to Underwood covering 36 and 72 yards with an interception.
He put on a show in front of a crowd that included Super Bowl winner Russell Wilson, a three-year starter who left in 2011 while pursuing a pro baseball career and ultimately landed at Wisconsin.
The Wolfpack unveiled a display with his name and No. 16 on the facade of Carter-Finley Stadium’s upper deck.
