KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -Freshman offensive tackle Aaron Douglas has been granted his release from the Tennessee program.
New Volunteers coach Derek Dooley said Thursday night that he met with Douglas earlier in the day, and the freshman asked for his release. The coach said Douglas has dealt with personal issues.
Douglas moved into the starting lineup last season in the fourth game and wound up starting 10 of the 13 games he played in. He is the son of former Tennessee and NFL offensive lineman David Douglas and former Lady Vols’ basketball player Karla Horton Douglas.
