IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) – Former Iowa wide receiver Derrell Johnson-Koulianos says he’s hoping to prove to NFL teams that he’s worthy of a draft pick.
Johnson-Koulianos, the Hawkeyes leader in career receptions, was arrested in early December on drug charges and suspended for Iowa’s win over Missouri in the Insight Bowl.
Johnson-Koulianos plead guilty to marijuana possession while other drug charges against him were dismissed. He was granted a deferred judgment and received a year’s probation and a small fine.
Johnson-Koulianos tells The Associated Press that he’s telling NFL teams that he’ll never make that kind of mistake again if they take a chance on him.
