IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) – A former University of Iowa athlete fought back tears as she told jurors she was sexually assaulted by two football players in 2007.
The woman testified Tuesday during the trial of former football player Cedric Everson, who is charged with second-degree sexual abuse.
The woman says she’d been drinking but remembers ending up in a dorm room with his teammate, Abe Satterfield. The woman says she told him to stop touching her, then performed oral sex in the hopes of avoiding intercourse. But she says Satterfield raped her.
The woman says she learned weeks later that Everson had sex with her later that night while she was asleep. Everson’s defense attorney claims the sex was consensual.
Satterfield has pleaded guilty to an assault charge and is expected to testify.
