Rockets slip up at home
Toledo saw their chances at a MAC Championship take a big hit last week in a 31-28 loss at home to Northern Illinois. The Rockets are now 6-4 on the season, 3-3 in the MAC, 4-6 against the spread and 6-4 with the over.
The Rockets have been a productive offensive team, averaging 29 points and 456 yards per game. Defensively, Toledo is giving up 28.8 points and 465.5 yards per contest. The Rockets are dealing with some injuries at QB. Mitchell Guadagni has thrown for 1,099 yards and eight touchdowns, but is questionable to play today due to an undisclosed injury. Eli Peters will go if he can’t. Peters has thrown for 665 yards and six touchdowns this year. Bryant Koback has rushed for 1,066 yards and 10 touchdowns to lead the ground game, while Bryce Mitchell is the top receiver with 28 catches for 556 yards and four scores. Koback is dealing with a leg injury and is questionable to play tonight as well.
Bulls end win streak
Buffalo had its three-game win streak come to an end last week in a 30-27 loss at Kent State. The loss ended Buffalo’s chances at the MAC title, as they are now 5-5 on the season, 3-3 in the MAC, 5-5 against the spread and 6-4 with the over.
The Bulls have been led this year by their defense. Buffalo is giving up just 23.1 points and 293.1 yards per game. Taylor Riggins is leading the defense with 34 tackles and 7.5 sacks. Offensively, Buffalo is putting up 28 points and 368 yards per contest. Jaret Patterson is leading Buffalo’s offense with 1,136 rushing yards and seven touchdowns while Kevin Marks has 783 rushing yards and six touchdowns. Kyle Vantrease has taken over at QB with 813 passing yards and six touchdowns. Antonio Nunn is the team’s leading receiver with 35 catches for 478 yards and five scores.
College Football Betting Trends
Toledo
The Rockets are 1-4 against the spread in their last five MAC games and 0-4 ATS in their last four road games.
Buffalo
The Bulls are 13-4 against the spread in their last 17 home games and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games following a loss.
Prediction:
Buffalo has a 5-1 record against the spread in their last six meetings with Toledo and I like the Bulls again tonight. Toledo has really struggled on the road, losing by double digits in both road conference games. Injuries have also piled up for them, so I think their offense will struggle with the Buffalo defense. Buffalo has had just one home game in the last month, so returning home should help the Bulls bounce back tonight. I like Buffalo to control this game on the ground and run over the Rockets.
College Football Week 13 Prediction: Buffalo -8.5
