Cornhuskers disappoint again
Nebraska is coming off a 31-27 loss at Purdue two weeks ago for a third consecutive loss. The Cornhuskers are now 4-5 on the season, 2-4 in the Big Ten, 1-8 against the spread and 5-4 with the under.
The Cornhuskers are putting up 26.3 points and 410.9 yards per game on offense this season while the defense is giving up 29.1 points and 406.3 yards per outing. Adrian Martinez has thrown for 1,492 yards and seven touchdowns while rushing for 399 yards and five scores. The Badgers are one of the top defenses in the nation, allowing only 12.6 points and 233.3 yards per game. Zack Baun is leading the defense with 46 tackles, 7.5 sacks and an interception. Offensively, Wisconsin is putting up 34.3 points and 419.2 yards per contest. Jonathan Taylor is leading the offense with 1,259 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns. College Football Betting Trends
Nebraska
The Cornhuskers are 0-6 against the spread in their last six conference games and 0-5 ATS in their last five against a winning team.
Wisconsin
The Badgers are 2-5 against the spread in their last seven road games and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games following a win.
Prediction:
Wisconsin has won six straight in this series, but the Cornhuskers have covered the spread in three of the last four meetings. Despite that, I like Wisconsin today. This Nebraska team has not hit their potential all year and I don’t see that changing today. The Cornhuskers haven’t been able to stop anyone and the Wisconsin offense isn’t crafty, but the Badgers will be able to run all over Nebraska. Defensively, the Badgers have faced much tougher offenses and succeeded, so I see the Cornhuskers really struggling to find consistent offense today.
