Virginia Tech vs. North Carolina Pick
Fresh off their upset win over Florida State last Saturday, North Carolina will be looking to pull off another shocker when they host Virginia Tech on ABC at 3:30PM ET. Continue reading for our free pick for this ACC matchup.
Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have made Virginia Tech a 3.5-point favorite over North Carolina in Week 11. The over/under total for this game is currently 52 points.
The Hokies are 7-2 overall this year and have covered in six of their first nine games. They’re also a perfect 2-0 away from Blacksburg this year and covered in both of their away games.
The Tar Heels are now 6-3 on the year after beating FSU on the road last week. They’re also 3-1 at home and have covered in six of their first nine games, although they’re just 2-2 ATS at Kenan Memorial Stadium.
Our Week 11 Free Pick:
North Carolina’s straight up win over Florida State last Saturday as a 10.5-point underdog was impressive. But this is the same team that was crushed by Miami three weeks ago and barely beat William & Mary two weeks ago. That’s not to say they don’t have the talent to pull off another upset (especially at home), because they do. But Virginia Tech is streaking towards an ACC Division crown and needs to continue to play well down the stretch. We like the fact that this is a day game too, because the Hokies tend to lose focus in prime time games (see their near loss to Georgia Tech last Thursday or their opening week loss to Boise State). We think the Hokies cover the spread this week though – our pick is VA Tech minus the points.
