Alabama vs. LSU Prediction
The biggest game of the week pits Alabama versus LSU at 8:00PM ET. Will the Tigers keep things close at home?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Crimson Tide are 7-point road favorites versus the Tigers after the line has bounced between 7 and 8.5 throughout the week. As for the total, the number hit the board at 47 but has been bet down a full two points to 45 as bettors and oddsmakers alike believe that tonight will be a defensive slug-fest in Baton Rouge.

ESPN.com states that these teams will meet for the 26th time when both schools have been ranked in the AP Poll, which is the most such games between any two teams in SEC history. The Crimson Tide is seeking its sixth straight win over LSU for the first time since an 11-game run between 1971-81, which is the longest winning streak by either team in this series.
A win tonight will give Nick Saban’s team its 13th straight win against an AP-ranked opponent and sole possession of the third-longest such streak in AP Poll history. The 12 consecutive wins against ranked tams are currently tied with Miami from 2000-02, USC from 1977-80, and Oklahoma from 1953-58.

OUR PREDICTION: Alabama is 5-0 versus LSU in its last five games but the Crimson Tide’s last six trips to Baton Rouge over that span has produced one last-second win, two overtime wins and three losses. Alabama stuffed Leonard Fournette in last season’s win in Tuscaloosa because it dominated LSU in the trenches and quarterback Brandon Harris couldn’t take advantage of the one-on-one matchups in the passing game. If Danny Etling can hit Malachi Dupre a few times early, then Bama will be forced to get out of the box and Fournette will have more room to operate. It’ll be tough for LSU to pull off the outright upset but give me the points with the home dog.
