Oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbook.com have made Auburn a 7-point favorite against the Rebels on Saturday. The over/under has been set at 60.5.
The point spread odds haven’t changed at all this week since opening at Auburn -7. The over/under total opened at 61.5 and has slowly worked down to 60.5.
The Tigers have won five games this season by single digits, including last week’s 24-17 win over LSU. Ole Miss has lost two straight, both to ranked opponents. The Rebels have given up at least 23 points in six of their seven games this season as the defense is allowing 370.6 yards per game while the offense is posting 410.3 total yards per game. Jeremiah Masoli has thrown for 1,260 yards and 10 touchdowns on the year while also rushing for 400 yards and three scores. Brandon Bolden has added 559 yards and five touchdowns rushing.
The trends favor Mississippi in this game as the home team is 4-1 against the spread in the last five games in this series and the Rebels are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games as an underdog while Auburn is 2-9 ATS in their last 11 road games.
Auburn linebacker Daren Bates is doubtful with a shoulder injury while receiver Deangelo Benton is questionable with an ankle injury. Ole Miss safety Damien Jackson is questionable for Saturday with a knee injury while running back Enrique Davis is also questionable with a knee injury.
