Colorado on a losing streak
Colorado is on a three-game losing streak right now following a 41-10 loss at Washington State last weekend. The Buffaloes are now just 3-4 on the season, 1-3 in the Pac-12, 3-4 against the spread and 4-3 with the over.
Defense has been an issue for Colorado all season, as the Buffaloes are giving up 34.9 points and 483.1 yards per game this year. Offensively, Colorado is putting up 26.6 points and 407.7 yards per contest. Steven Montez is leading the team this year with 1,723 passing yards and 10 touchdowns, but he also has eight interceptions. Alex Fontenot is the leading rusher with 568 yards and four touchdowns. Tony Brown is the leading receiver with 37 catches for 480 yards and four touchdowns.
USC dominates Zona
USC put an end to a two-game losing streak this past weekend when it put up an impressive 41-14 win over Arizona at home. The Trojans are 4-3 on the season, 3-1 in the Pac-12, 4-3 against the spread and 5-2 with the under.
The Trojans are average on offense and struggling a bit on defense. USC is putting up 30.7 points and 431.6 yards per game on offense while giving up 24 points and 416.6 yards per game on defense. Kedon Slovis has battled some injuries, but is healthy now and has thrown for 1,219 yards and nine touchdowns to lead the offense. USC has also been beat up at running back, as Vavae Malepeai is out indefinitely with a knee injury while Markese Stepp is also out and Stephen Carr is doubtful to play due to a hamstring issue. The three have combined for close to 1,000 rushing yards. Michael Pittman Jr. is the team’s leading receiver with 43 catches for 599 yards and five touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Colorado
The Buffaloes are 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 games on grass and 1-8 ATS in their last nine conference games.
USC
The Trojans are just 1-6 against the spread in their last seven Friday games and 4-11-1 ATS in their last 16 road games.
Prediction:
USC has won all 13 meetings with Colorado over their history. The Trojans are 5-3-1 against the spread in the last nine meetings as well. USC has been playing well lately and had a competitive schedule for the last month. Going to Colorado should be somewhat of a break for the Trojans after playing ranked opponents in three of their last four games. Colorado has given up at least 35 points in their last three and at least 30 in five straight. I think the Buffs will continue to struggle on defense, even with the injuries to the USC running backs. Slovis has shown the ability to lead this offense down the field and I think he leads the Trojans to a cover.
