Texas Longhorns Game Notes
Texas junior WR Joshua Moore (femoral contusion) is considered to be probable for Saturday’s game vs. Oklahoma. Moore (6’1/169) who reached the end zone three times in Texas’ come-from-behind overtime win over Texas Tech back on September 26, suffered the injury during Saturday’s 33-31 home loss to TCU. The redshirt sophomore has been the Longhorns’ most productive receiver this season, as he leads the team in receptions (11), receiving yards (200) and receiving touchdowns (four).
Oklahoma Sooners Game Notes
Oklahoma are not ranked in the AP Top-25 Poll for the first time since 2016. 2016 was the year Baker Mayfield really stepped things up. After losses to Houston and Ohio State early in the year, the Sooners went on a tear and eventually won the Sugar Bowl. The Sooners had been coasting on by in the Top-25 since then, but no more. Consecutive losses to Kansas State and Iowa State have finally pushed the Sooners out of the ranked spotlight. Maybe a win over Texas, who are still ranked despite their upset loss, can put the Sooners back in.
Texas vs. Oklahoma Betting Prediction
The Longhorns have done very well in this series, covering the spread in seven of their last eight games with the Sooners and despite losing last week to TCU, they’ve won four of their last five games. The Longhorns are 8-1 against the number in their last nine games at a neutral site as an underdog, are 11-5-1 against the number in their last 17 games as an underdog and are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games after allowing more than 40 points in their previous. The Sooners, meanwhile, are 1-6 against the spread in their last seven games versus a team with a winning record and they’ve failed to cover in seven of their last eight conference games.
