FSU looking for program win
It’s been an up-and-down season for Florida State thus far. The Seminoles have won their last two games, but are looking for a program-defining win right now. FSU is 3-2 on the season, 2-1 in the ACC, 2-2-1 against the spread and 3-2 with the over.
The FSU offense is putting up 33.2 points and 429.4 yards per game this season, which isn’t bad. However, the Florida State defense is allowing 29.6 points and 447 yards per game, which is in the bottom third of the country. James Blackman has thrown for 970 yards and nine touchdowns to lead the offense while Cam Akers has rushed for 582 yards and seven touchdowns. Tamorrion Terry is the leading receiver with 21 catches for 384 yards and four scores.
Clemson holds off UNC
Clemson had a bye last weekend, but the Tigers are coming off a 21-20 win at North Carolina the week prior, stopping the Tar Heels on a 2-point conversion to get the victory. Clemson is 5-0 on the season, 3-0 in the ACC, 3-2 against the spread and 3-2 with the under.
The Tigers have a pretty good offense that averages 38 points and 486 yards per game, but the defense is what is really special. Clemson is giving up just 12 points and 255.2 yards per game this season. Trevor Lawrence has thrown for 1,131 yards and eight touchdowns, but also has five interceptions this year. Travis Etienne is the team’s leading rusher with 462 yards and five scores while Tee Higgins has 22 receptions for 505 yards and three touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Florida State
The Seminoles have hit the over in five straight road games and in 10 of their last 14 overall.
Clemson
Clemson has hit the under in five straight games following a bye week and in five of their last six conference games.
Prediction:
If the over is going to hit, Clemson is going to have to score a lot of points on Saturday. It’s certainly possible, as these two are 2-0-1 with the over over their last three meetings. However, we know the Clemson defense is solid. They have given up just 24 points over three games at home this season. Florida State has potential on offense, but the Seminoles haven’t faced anything like this Clemson defense yet. I expect FSU to be luck to get to 17 points. Clemson will need to score in the mid 40’s for the over to hit and only one team has put that up on FSU this year, and that was in OT. Clemson has plenty of talent on offense, but the Tigers just haven’t looked quite as good as we expected. Don’t be surprised for them to look a little tame this week as well.
College Football Week 7 Prediction: Florida State/Clemson Under 60.5
