Public Betting Trends
According to the latest oddsmakers, Texas A&M is the clear favorite in this game, as the Aggies are getting odds of -23 points against Arkansas. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 57.5 points. The public betting currently has 61 percent going on Texas A&M as the favorite. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NCAAF Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.
Aggies fall to Auburn
Texas A&M had its offense come up short for the second time this season in a 28-20 loss at home to Auburn last weekend. The Aggies are now 2-2 on the season, 0-1 in the SEC, 3-1 against the spread and 2-2 with the over/under total.
A&M still has good numbers for the season on offense, averaging 33.3 points and 447.8 yards per game, but those have dropped significantly against respectable teams. Defensively, A&M is allowing just 15.5 points and 276 yards per contest. Kellen Mond has thrown for 1,082 yards and seven touchdowns to lead the team this season while Isaiah Spiller is the leading rusher with 255 yards and two scores. Jhamon Ausbon is the leading receiver with 25 catches for 364 yards and two touchdowns.
Arkansas in a hole
Arkansas hasn’t looked very good this season despite a 2-2 record. The Razorbacks are coming off a 31-24 loss at home to San Jose State last weekend. They are 0-1 in the SEC, 1-3 against the spread and 3-1 with the under.
The Razorbacks are putting up 29 points and 440.8 yards per game on offense this season while giving up 27.3 points and 410.3 yards per game on defense. Rakeem Boyd has rushed for 394 yards and three touchdowns to lead the offense. Quarterback Nick Starkel has added 910 yards passing with seven touchdowns, but also has six interceptions. Trey Knox is the leading receiver with 21 catches for 299 yards and two touchdowns. Kamren Curl is leading the defense with 27 tackles, two sacks and two interceptions.
College Football Betting Trends
Texas A&M
The Aggies are 23-7-1 against the spread in their last 31 games in September, but just 7-18 ATS in their last 25 games following a loss.
Arkansas
The Razorbacks are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games following a loss and 1-4 ATS in their last five on a neutral field.
Prediction:
A&M has won seven straight in this series and has covered in three of the last four meetings. The Aggies haven’t looked good against the likes of Auburn and Clemson, but those are two quality teams. They beat up on Texas State and Lamar. Arkansas isn’t quite as bad as those teams, but they also aren’t on the level of the good teams A&M has faced. The Razorbacks have struggled to move the ball against good defensive teams and don’t have the offensive weapons to move the ball against A&M. I think the Aggies can pile up the points against Arkansas, especially on a fast track like AT&T Stadium.
