According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Baylor is the favorite at home in this game, as the Bears are getting odds of -8 points against Oklahoma State. Bet on Oklahoma State vs. Baylor
Oklahoma State bounced back from its controversial loss to Central Michigan when it beat Pitt 45-38 at home last week. The Cowboys have now hit the over in two of three games this season, both of their wins. Oklahoma State is now averaging 44.3 points and 458.3 yards per game on offense while giving up 25 points and 382.7 yards per game. The Cowboys have been focusing mostly on passing the ball as Mason Rudolph has thrown for 1,017 yards and six touchdowns and the entire run game has just 294 yards over three games.
Baylor is off to a 3-0 start thanks to a 38-10 win over Rice last week. Surprisingly, the Bears have hit the under in all three games this season. The big reason for that is Baylor’s defense. Baylor is giving up just 10 points and 249.3 yards per game. They are currently one of the top passing defenses in the country, allowing just 97 yards per game through the air. Offensively, Baylor is moving the ball as fine as usual. The Bears are averaging 44.3 points and 557.3 yards per game. Unlike Oklahoma State, Baylor has been moving the ball on the ground. Three different backs have over 200 yards this season. Quarterback Seth Russell has added 761 passing yards with nine touchdowns.

It’s hard to know if Baylor’s defense is for real, or if the Bears are just benefiting off playing poor teams. Today should let us know if they are for real. Oklahoma State can move the ball, but if Baylor’s secondary is as good as it has shown so far, the Cowboys could be in for a rough day. Either way, a step up in competition should impact Baylor’s offensive and defensive numbers. Oklahoma State also should see their offensive numbers slip a little bit. The total seems just a bit too high today, as oddsmakers anticipate the defenses staying home.
