Alabama is 2-1 all-time against the Blue Devils. Duke coach David Cutcliffe is an alum of Alabama and former coach at Ole Miss and is 2-4 against the Crimson Tide all-time.
Alabama is 2-0 on the season with wins over San Jose State and No. 22 Penn State. The Tide have allowed just six points total in the two games while averaging just 229 yards allowed per-game on defense. Greg McElroy has thrown for 447 yards and three touchdowns in limited action while Trent Richardson has rushed for 210 yards and three scores. Mark Ingram, the defending Heisman winner, has yet to play this season, but is expected to play on Saturday.
Duke is 1-1 on the year after losing to Wake Forest last week, 54-48. The Blue Devils are averaging 514.5 yards per-game on offense but allowing 40.5 points and 453 yards per-game. Sean Renfree has thrown for 708 yards and six touchdowns on the season while Conner Vernon has 18 receptions for 310 yards and two touchdowns.
