Mason Rudolph Heisman Odds
STILLWATER, OK (TheSpread) – After seeing limited action in the 2014 season, is Mason Rudolph ready to lead Oklahoma State to big things in 2015?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Rudolph is listed with 40/1 odds to win the 2015 Heisman Trophy. Trevone Boykin of TCU is the current favorite with 6/1 odds while Ohio State’s Ezekiel Elliott has 7/1 odds. Braxton Miller, Jeremy Johnson and Nick Chubb each have 10/1 odds.
Mason Rudolph appeared in the final three games of the season for Oklahoma State, throwing for 853 yards and six touchdowns with four interceptions. He completed 57 percent of his passes and had at least 270 yards in all three games, including 273 yards in a win over Oklahoma and 299 yards in a win over Washington in the Cactus Bowl.
Passing has always been a big part of Oklahoma State’s offense under Mike Gundy, but the team didn’t quite have the same success in 2014. In 2013, Oklahoma State had 3,599 passing yards with 26 touchdowns. In 2012, the Cowboys threw for 4,312 yards and 34 scores. In 2011, the team had 5,034 passing yards with 37 touchdowns. It seems that if Rudolph is able to grasp and execute the offense, he should put up Heisman caliber numbers this season.
