This game will be played from the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia at 9:20PM ET (View Matchup). According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Louisville is the favorite in this title game, as the Cardinals have odds of -4 points against Michigan. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 138 points. Opening odds had Louisville favored by 4.5 points. The spread was never greater than that, and hit a low of 3 points before closing at Louisville -4.
Louisville advance to tonight’s national title game by beating Wichita State in the Final Four on Saturday night. The Cardinals faced a 12-point deficit in the second half of the game, but rallied to get the victory. The two teams were evenly matched, but the Cardinals shot just a little bit better, hitting 9 3-pointers in the victory. Russ Smith once again led the team, as he had 21 points with three assists while Luke Hancock added 20 points off the bench. Louisville is now 34-5 on the season, 11-1 on a neutral floor and 23-16 against the spread.
Michigan reached tonight’s game by beating Syracuse 61-56 on Saturday night. The Wolverines were in control for most of the game, holding an 11-point lead at halftime, but the Orange cut the lead down to three points toward the end of the game, but weren’t able to finish things off. Michigan had some big play out of its bench as Caris LeVert and Spike Albrecht combined to hit four 3-pointers. Trey Burke was just 1 of 8 from the floor for 7 points, but Mitch McGary stepped up to lead the team, scoring 10 points with 12 rebounds and six assists. Michigan is 31-7 overall, 10-1 on a neutral floor and 19-16-1 against the spread.
