Floyd has emerged from as a potential permanent successor to Hall of Famer Lute Olson, who retired last October.
The newspaper cited an unidentified source, and reported it was not clear if Floyd had been offered the job.
Floyd has led the Trojans to the NCAA tournament three straight times, and this year he coached them to the Pac-10 tournament title.
A message left on Arizona athletic director Jim Livengood's cell phone was not returned Wednesday night.
