WVU falls to No. 20 in the poll
MORGANTOWN, WV (TheSpread) – It’s been a rough week for West Virginia’s basketball team, as the Mountaineers have fallen eight spots in the latest top 25 poll.
WVU came in at No. 12 in last week’s rankings, but the Mountaineers suffered a 71-52 loss at Oklahoma and an 87-69 loss to Baylor at home last week, which send West Virginia plummeting to No. 20 in the latest USA Today Top 25 poll.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, West Virginia currently has 100/1 odds to win the NCAA Tournament this year. Kentucky is the favorite with 11/10 odds while Virginia has the next-shortest odds at 15/2.
West Virginia is now 18-5 on the season and 6-4 in the Big 12. The Mountaineers are two games behind Kansas for the lead in the Big 12, but currently tied for fourth in the conference. WVU is 8-3 at home and 4-2 on the road while going 12-9 against the spread. West Virginia has never won the Final Four and the Mountaineers last reached the Final Four in 2010.
