Florida State Player Spotlight
Devin Vassell had 17 points (7-15 FG, 3-8 3Pt), six rebounds, two assists and two steals Tuesday at Virginia. He was the only Seminole to score more than eight points. Vassell has reached double-digits in every conference game, and has proven to be matchup proof, averaging 17.5 in two matchup against the defensive Cavaliers. With them now off of the schedule, Vassell is even more cleared for a big February, as matchups with Virginia Tech, North Carolina and Miami won’t present roadblocks.
Virginia Tech Player Spotlight
Landers Nolley had 22 points (5-17 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 10-11 FT), seven rebounds and two assists Wednesday against North Carolina. Nolley continues to pile up points and rebounds, but is just 10-of-33 over his last two games, including 5-of-21 from 3-point range. He scored when it matter in this contest however, doing so by using his frame to attack the basket. Perhaps that’s a better strategy for Nolley, who appears a much better fantasy asset where percentages aren’t relevant. Upcoming games at Boston College and Miami don’t appear to present road blocks to production however.
