WASHINGTON (AP) -Georgetown junior Nikita Mescheriakov is transferring to another school at the end of the semester.
Coach John Thompson III said Tuesday that Mescheriakov wants to move to a team that would give him more playing time.
The native of Belarus started nine games last season, but he has appeared in only seven games this season for a combined 44 minutes.
At least five Hoyas players have transferred to other schools in the last three years.
Marc Egerson left for Delaware, Jeremiah Rivers went to Indiana, Vernon Macklin departed for Florida, and Omar Wattad is at Chattanooga.
