ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) – Deshawn Delaney continued his strong play for New Mexico, scoring 15 points Saturday night to lead the Lobos to a 54-46 win over Louisiana-Monroe.
Delaney has scored 54 points in the past three games-by far the most-productive of his career.
Nick Coppola scored nine to lead the Warhawks (4-4).
New Mexico (6-3) trailed for much of the first half before Hugh Greenwood hit consecutive 3-pointers to start a Lobos’ 14-3 run to close the half, putting them up 26-19 at the break.
After falling behind 48-31 with 8:12 left, the Warhawks scored 11 straight to pull within 48-42. Delaney ended the Lobos’ five-minute scoring drought with a pull-up 14-footer.
New Mexico got strong production off the bench, outscoring the Warhawks 18-11, with reserve Tim Jacobs putting up eight points while grabbing five boards in 20 minutes for the Lobos.
