BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -LSU forward Garrett Green will be redshirted for the 2008-09 season.
Green, a sophomore from Woodland Hills, Calif., has missed all but a couple of days of team practice since formal sessions began in mid-October with lower back problems. LSU trainer Shawn Eddy says Green was having continued discomfort in his lower back and was unable to sustain the day-to-day team regimen through practice.
Coach Trent Johnson says Green will be missed this season. He says they will continue to rehabilitate Green to get him ready for next season.
Green played 25 games with one start during his freshman season, averaging 1.8 points and 1.6 rebounds a game.
